How To create quality content

Tips for creating great content

Do you want to generate traffic to your site, improve its referencing by Google and increase your conversion rates?

Writing qualitys contents is the answer to be these three issues.

For this you will need to define your audience, bring it real added value, keep it, keep it in shape, and take care of SEO.

1- Define your audience

Content is remarkable only because it gets noticed, and preferably by the audience it is intended for. The first step in making great content is to define the audience for your site.

In web marketing, we call that defining “the persona”. The persona is like a composite of the typical client. It is defined by common issues, behaviors, a place of life or an age group depending on the specifics of your business.

Take the example of a European start-up like Sepastop.eu. It offers an online termination service to its customers, who can print their personalized termination letter free of charge in minutes, or even send it by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt without leaving their couch.

Their persona is therefore someone who is likely to move or go on a long trip, and / or who does not have the time or inclination to take time-consuming steps. He probably also wants answers to various practical questions.

2 - Bring real added value

Once you've set your target, you need to make sure you make them want to come to your site, stay there, and then choose your department. That's why  just promoting what you are, or what you sell, is of little value.

To attract traffic and keep your readership going or generate clicks, you have to offer them something, before you can sell them anything else.

You need to provide solutions, or come up with an “extra thing” that your persona needs right now. It can be blog posts, a free ebook, videos ...

To take the example of the Sepastop.eu site, it is therefore in their interest to offer their audience content that will be useful to them. This could mean, for example, explaining how to opt out of a very restrictive subscription to a private channel. The Internet user will then be able to use the service offered by the site, or not. If he is satisfied with the service provided free of charge, it increases the possibility of him using the paid services. Win-win.

3 - keep it simple

whatever You have some knowledge or information in
about particular field, and  do you want to share it, or even sell it. The basic idea is that you are talking to people who have less knowledge than you in the field in question.

So try to popularize your point, that is to say to make it understandable by non-specialists, or even uninitiated.

If you need to create more specialized content, feel free to label it "advanced". This will reassure everyone about your knowledge,This will assure everyone about your knowledge, without confusing those who lack basic knowledge.

We often recommend writing "for children". This is wise, but be careful: the idea is not to take your readers for fools, but to put yourself in the teacher's shoes and provide the most educational content possible. Sometimes it is more difficult to say complex things simply than the other way around!

4 - Take care of the writing

Making reading enjoyable and easy keeps your reader captive until the very end, so it doesn't desert your content along the way.

Indeed, when Google realizes that your content is not read in full, it hurts your SEO. Remember that a large portion of Internet users primarily consult sites from their smartphones. Your editorial must take this into account.

For it :

-Give the main useful information to the reader at the beginning of the text using the QQOQCCP rule (Who, what, where, when, how, how much, why?). Use the hat for this, ie the short text that follows the title and introduces your point.

- Make lists using numbers or bullets

-Use subtitles to separate your sub parts

-Highlight strong ideas in bold

-Keep sentences short, and keep your paragraphs no longer than two or three sentences. Beyond that, think of the line break.

- Take care of grammar and spelling. Just because social media is full of mistakes and approximations doesn't mean you have to get up to speed. Keep it simple, yes, but in good French!

5 - think about SEO (anyway)

SEO is important. Very important even. But that’s no reason to think only of him, and that’s why he only appears here in last place.

Some sites are content to tag keywords all over the text without tail or head to appear first in search results.

Of course, that's not what you have to do: you want to create quality content to tie in your persona. However, even if Google is more and more sensitive to the quality of the content, SEO remains essential.

So choose the most relevant keywords, that is to say those that correspond to the probable query of your persona, and sprinkle in your text in the most natural way possible.

If you follow these 5 tips, you will be sure to create quality content that is significantly higher than the average for the web. And then Google will reward you!
